Compression stockings are a specialized hosiery designed to work by “gradient compression” which means that the strongest compression is at the ankle and this pressure is gradually reduced in the sock as it moves up the calf. This helps to move the blood up the leg, back to the heart, against the pull of gravity. This prevents the blood from flowing backwards down the leg which causes internal pressure on the veins and visible swelling. Compression socks can help alleviated symptoms of:
- Achy/tired legs and feet
- Swollen feet and ankles
- Varicose and “Spider Veins”
- Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
- Frequent travel demands
- Pregnancy-related swelling
